Unsent
Last updated: April 15, 2026
Introduction
Unsent is a breakup recovery companion that offers emotional support chat, mood tracking, guided journey tasks, unsent-letter journaling, and panic recovery tools. This policy explains what information the app may collect, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Data We Store
Depending on how you use the app, Unsent may store the following information locally on your device and, if sync is enabled, in your connected account:
- Profile and onboarding preferences, such as language and relationship context.
- Chat messages exchanged with the Sage companion.
- Mood entries and related trend information.
- Journey progress and completed tasks.
- Unsent letters and related journaling content.
- App settings and other features needed to keep your experience consistent.
How We Use Data
We use this information only to provide app functionality, including:
- Powering the Sage chat experience with relevant context.
- Saving your mood and journey history so progress is preserved.
- Keeping your unsent letters private and available to you.
- Supporting local-first operation and recovery if you reinstall or switch devices.
- Enforcing app limits such as the free daily chat limit when applicable.
Storage and Sync
Unsent uses local on-device storage for responsiveness and offline safety. Some data may also sync through Supabase so that your account can access it across devices.
- Chat messages are saved locally immediately.
- Messages may sync in batches rather than one by one.
- Remote access is intended to be protected by per-user access controls.
AI Companion
Sage uses your recent conversation context, mood signals, and journey state to shape responses. The app is designed to reduce repetition and avoid inventing personal facts.
In safety-sensitive situations, the app may surface crisis-oriented guidance or support text instead of a normal coaching response.
Permissions
Unsent may request permissions that are required for specific features, such as notifications or other platform capabilities that support reminders and user experience. The app does not need these permissions for tracking or advertising.
Third-Party Services
Unsent may use Supabase for authentication, profile storage, and remote sync. Those services process data under their own infrastructure and policies.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as it is needed to provide the app experience or as required by your account and sync settings. You can remove app data by deleting the content from within the app or by removing your account where supported. Some data may be retained for up to 30 days for backup and security purposes, after which it is permanently deleted.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account using the in-app account deletion option. If you need a public page for instructions, visit: ./delete-account/
Deleting your account removes synced Unsent data from our systems, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Children’s Privacy
Unsent is not intended for children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, inside the app.
