Screen Share ("Screen Share | Mirror & Cast")
Effective date: February 5, 2026
Summary
The App enables live screen sharing over the local network. This policy explains what data the App may access or transmit, why, and how we handle it.
Data Collected and Usage
- Local network IP addresses: used for device discovery and establishing peer connections. Not shared with external parties except as needed for WebRTC signaling.
- In-memory media streams (video/audio): live streamed to connected viewers; by design the App does not persistently store screen video or audio on device or servers.
- Signaling metadata: temporary identifiers and anonymous tokens used with Firebase Realtime Database to coordinate WebRTC sessions (room IDs, SDP, ICE candidates). These are ephemeral and used only for live connection setup.
Third-Party Services
Firebase Realtime Database (for signaling): used to exchange ephemeral session data. See Firebase privacy documentation for details.
Permissions
- Microphone/Camera: requested only if you explicitly grant permission to include audio/video in a session.
- Local network access: requested to discover and connect to other devices on your local network.
ReplayKit Extension and App Group
The App uses a ReplayKit broadcast extension to capture screen frames when you start a broadcast. The app and extension share a local App Group container for small control files (e.g., room ID, stop flag) used to coordinate starting and stopping broadcasts.
Data Retention and Security
The App does not collect or transmit personal data to third parties for analytics or storage. Signaling data used to establish connections is transient and can be removed by the extension after a session ends.
